Believe
it or not, I just spoke to Sgt. William Scribner today. He is still working
for the New Milford Police Department. It seems that Connecticut's version of
"negligent homicide" amounts to no more than a must appear traffic
violation. He did not say what his "penalty" is, but suffice to say,
he is still on the job. He said that any amount of negligence, no matter how
small it contributes, can result in prosecution under this code. He told me
that, as explained to him by his attorney, that even if fault was determined
to be 99% the other driver's and 1% his, he could be charged.
